Digital accessibility
Upforce places great value on an inclusive online experience and strives to make its website accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities. In anticipation of the upcoming European Accessibility Act (EAA), Upforce is actively working to implement adjustments that align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at Level AA.
To achieve this goal, a structural project has been set up in which systematic work is being done on the optimisation of various page types.
In recent months, significant improvements have already been made to both the frontend and backend. Due to the hybrid nature of our website, consisting of an old and a new platform component, this process requires precise coordination and customisation per page. Each page is tested against the AA criteria of the WCAG.
Upforce incorporates the AA-level guidelines as standard in the further development of its website, ensuring it remains sustainably accessible to everyone in the future.
Parts for which developments are planned.
- Alt tag for all non-textual content on all pages.
- Visible font and contrast improvements
- Accessible navigation and clear page structure
- Using ARIA landmarks (like main, nav, header, footer) to make page sections recognisable to screen readers
- All functions must be fully operable with a keyboard (without a mouse)
